I hate surprises. Even hubby knew that. There were times in the past (boyfriend/girlfriend stage) he threw quite few surprises for me and it became the cause of our petty quarrels. For all things he plan to give me, whether I would specifically ask for it, or, that, he would want something to buy me a gift. He would surely asked me what is it I like. We are two married people who have lots of “irreconcilable” differences. We have never tried to patch up our differences. We have gone tired trying to change each other to become the person truly different from what we really are. Instead, we try to understand each other. Accepting each other’s flaws and imperfections.
Nobody is perfect. I, for one, is the worse person one would meet. Motherhood has made my world confined to the four corners of our little home. I get to see friends or relatives when I would walked out this small room, away from this computer, gasping for fresh air. But contact with other people is very short and limited. A personal choice. Not that I am being snobbish. Just a choice.
I do have friends, though. Many. And, I hate them, too when they would throw me a surprise
My friend and sissy-in-law from down under sent me a small package containing Clinique products. It is no surprise that she would regularly sent us stuff. Even making a call to inform us that there’s a package coming. Thus, the package for me came with much surprised and I was in awe
Especially the message on the card…

Sweet!

Though the messages were somehow too “flattering”. Modesty aside, I do not deserve such accolades. I am just a simple person. Trying to be a good wife. Taking care of my kids. Managing a home with much love and fervor to ensure a harmonious relationship with every member of my family. And, leave a legacy to my kids and their families to come.
“CHANGE IS GOOD, FOR THE BETTERMENT OF EVERYBODY”.
hmmm.. you’re the first person i came across with who hates surprises, lol!

You are too humble ate. You deserve those praises!
Another YELLOW post at Ms. B’s blog.
what a beautiful message! i miss receiving cards like this. my best-friend and I were big card senders when we were “younger”.:p but after she got married and moved abroad, became busy with family, and i became busy with my life, too, we seldom send cards anymore. napalitan na ng skype and facebook.:p
i love surprises…it’s heart-warming when a person close to me makes an effort to make me happy without consulting me first.:p
That’s very sweet words…
You deserve the accolades, Mommy Riz. Ganda nong mensahe. I am sure she carefully chose it coz it befits the recipient
And those items! Ang bongga! Ang sarap talaga ng feeling pag may nagmamahal, di ba po?
