There came three loud bangs at past 20 minutes after 11 in the evening. Just a time when Christmas eve is less than 40 minutes away. There were several try outs afterwards to bring back the power supply, but to no avail. We waited and waited until pass 12:10 am, when we decided we’re waiting in vain and just eat away our Christmas meal on the front yard. Braving the blustery winds that was what Christmas is here in our place. Blustery, windy, colder, and YES, in COMPLETE DARKNESS!

That was our Christmas…

The kids just content themselves lighting out candles, and emergency lights,  and few small fireworks…

We did set up a small table for al fresco dining…and small fireworks for this little miss who kept complaining of the darkness...”where have the lights go?”, she asked.

But, the gusty winds were too unbearable, we decided to call it a night after biting off Christmas sweet treats :)

Too glad that right after cooking all the foodies on the night of 24th, every one is too eager too eat…but, not before the usual photo ops :)

On the table were lasagna, chicken rolled in bacon, ham, tacos, breads and spreads, and desserts I prepared three days before Christmas.

Chow, chow…

The morning of Christmas, even when the kids were whining they hadn’t had much sleep, we had to wake them up early for these…minus the wraps… everyone is excited, even though, all five of us knew what the presents were :)

And, soon after a quick breakfast, visitors kept coming in…the traditional “new paper bills giving” :) Neighbor kids, relatives, friends, “inaanaks” (godchildren) came in batches, to the delight of the little miss who acts out as the Santa together with her dad in giving out the paper bills to these kids. Last year, I had gifts wrapped especially for kids, but, then, they kept asking for new bills, ha ha! Thus, I skipped the gifts this year and replaced with more bills instead :)

Such is the spirit of  Christmas. Giving and sharing. That even a new and crisp twenty-peso-bill would make a kid jump for joy.I shall pray that the Creator will blessed us with more health so we could continue to share the blessings even in our simple ways to make these kids happy. See yah again next Christmas, kiddos :)

Thanks for the foods and gifts, and the happy family I am blessed with, dear Creator. I couldn’t asked for more…

…just skipped the power shutdown, pretty please :)
